My God tuhday.
When I tell you that I am so glad that this is over. 🤣
That is so sad. All that i required of me in this 7 day focus was commitment to myself. If it were one of my children I would have jumped at the opportunity no questions asked. I would have shown up with a smile and my best attitude. Instead, I met myself daily as nothing more than a box that needed to be checked. 😩
I am, however, glad that I did this. It shows ne just how far I have gotten from making myself a priority first. What I have learned in my 25 years of parenting is that showing up for others wholly whilst not, myself being whole, is an exact recipe for disaster.
Today alone reminded me of that. I soent the entire day moving. Running around getting last minute costume pieces. Doing hair, cooking, cleaning, teaching, chauffeuring, laundry, errands. And still managed to make it to my sister’s to show up for my mom.
Everyone seemed to be having a “me” day so I pushed through, alone. Sometimes it’s like that in this house. I just settled for it. It is what it is now. But I am mostly bothered when I am drowning and then Everyone wonders what’s wrong with mom, like tonight. I didn’t get a chance to eat today so I did eat past 6:30. I never starve myself. Thats my one rule. Been there done that. But as I was cleaning the kitchen I was asked a question to which the response was “I buy the food, cook the food, serve the food, clean my mess and half the time no thank you, no meaningful assistance, but much complaining. Too much food. Not enough food. I can barely fix my plate without fixing seconds first.
Some days I am tired. I keep going but sometimes I want someone to cook for me, cater to me, shop for me.
I will climb over hot coals in the middle of an erupting volcano in the middle of a firestorm for my family but I sometimes feel like they won’t Aldo the same. Crazy thing is, most moms feel his way and you’ll never ever know.
I am an open book and my experiences are not much different from other mothers. If you’re a mom. *hugs* If you’re a father *hugs* I dont know your struggles but I see my husband and whilst he doesn’t mention them, he wears them and I see them. ❤️
We’re all just trying to make it happily through this life.
I completed this assignment and now know what I need to work on in order to rededicate myself to a healthier happier me.
Thanks for going on this journey with me and I hope I gained a follower or two. I appreciate you being here. Don’t be a stranger. 🥰
